Brenda Glim Announces Campaign for Huntington Beach City Council, Vows to Represent Every Resident When Elected

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Longtime community advocate and Huntington Beach resident Brenda Glim officially launched her campaign for Huntington Beach City Council, pledging to restore stability, focus on transparency, and prioritize residents, not politics, at City Hall.

Glim has called Huntington Beach home for more than 37 years and brings a diverse professional background spanning public service, business, and education. She currently works in medical education, helping physicians improve communication with patients, and previously held roles with the U.S. Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Air Force, McDonnell Douglas, and IBM.

“For too long, this City Council has created chaos instead of solving real problems,” said Glim. “I’m running because Huntington Beach deserves steady leadership that listens to residents and focuses on making our city safe, affordable, and welcoming for everyone.”

A longtime member of Huntington Beach Rotary, Glim has spent more than two decades leading service projects that support local communities. Her priorities include restoring civility and stability to City Council, strengthening public safety, supporting small businesses, responsibly expanding housing options, and ensuring fiscal accountability, all while making sure every resident has a voice.

“As a homeowner, taxpayer, and grandmother, I’m deeply invested in the future of our city,” Glim added. “This campaign is about getting back to basics: good governance, common sense, and community.”

Brenda Glim lives in downtown Huntington Beach with her husband Carl, their daughter Desiree, three grandsons, and their Labradoodle, Kiki.
