I'm Brenda Glim, and I'm running for City Council!
Brenda Glim has called Huntington Beach home for more than 37 years, and her love for our community runs deep.
Brenda has spent her life bringing people together, whether that’s helping medical professionals improve how they communicate with patients, or serving in roles at the U.S. General Accountability Office, the U.S. Air Force, McDonnell Douglas, and IBM.
For over 20 years, Brenda has been an active member of Huntington Beach Rotary, leading projects that make a real difference right here in Huntington Beach. She believes in service, collaboration, and showing up for her neighbors.
Brenda is running to bring stability and common sense back to City Council. Her priorities are simple and practical: keeping our community safe, supporting small businesses and responsible housing, protecting taxpayer dollars, and making sure everyone in Huntington Beach has a seat at the table.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and lives downtown with her husband Carl, her daughter Desiree, three grandsons, and their Labradoodle, Kiki. When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll often find her spending time with family and staying connected to the community she’s proud to call home.
Huntington Beach is my home.
I have proudly called Huntington Beach home since 1989, when I relocated here after being hired by McDonnell Douglas. What drew me initially was the unbeatable combination of our beautiful weather and proximity to the ocean; a lifestyle that blends outdoor activity with a relaxed, coastal spirit.
Living here means having access to some of the best natural and community spaces. I personally enjoy walking four miles from my home to Cabo Wabo and back, taking time to stroll along the pier; a ritual I do at least four days a week. For me, those moments embody the peaceful, rejuvenating essence of Huntington Beach; my little slice of heaven.
Beyond the beach and pier, I treasure our public spaces like Central Park and the Central Library. These are vital community hubs where families gather, ideas flourish, and lifelong memories are made. They reflect the heart of our city; welcoming, vibrant, and full of opportunity.
Huntington Beach is more than a place to live. It’s a community that nourishes both body and soul, and I’m grateful every day to be part of it.
